I'm Nancy,

The video editor.

I wear a lot of hats.

Reel Video

I've been video editing professionally since 2017. I was making videos unprofessionally for many years before that. Mostly I made silly music videos with sock puppets when I should have been studying for exams at university. One in particular was one sock puppet singing Michelle by the Beatles to its far-away match, alone in the messy sock drawer. Before that, I can remember being a kid and making videos with my family where my brother and I would pretend we were news presenters sitting behind a desk with our stack of papers. I've always had fun making videos. It lets me be creative. Every project is a new puzzle to solve, and when it's done you have a finished product you can share and carry with you for years to come.

Nowadays I bring the same enthusiasm to more commercial projects. I love the educational videos where I’ve gotten to learn about biology or regenerative agriculture. I had a great time helping film and edit promotional videos centered around family hop farms and start-up brew pubs. I've gotten to watch people's ideas and hard work carry over onto the screen. I've also felt like part of the production in theater shows by going rehearsals to film from the wings or sit in the booth and capture behind-the-scenes of lighting and sound. My favorite is documentary filmmaking because it captures real life in a way that can be shared and inspire action.

But it’s all fun, and I hope to make that enjoyment infectious. I want to help others bring their visions to life and get their messages out into the world. I can be as small or as large a part of the process as you need. Together, we can create something worth keeping.
